MNEA seeking members to serve on MNEA state committees

Application deadline extended to July 31.

Missouri NEA has four standing committees, four advisory committees and four elected committees--each with specific functions to help develop and/or carry out Missouri NEA's programs. Except otherwise noted, committee members, committee chairs and board liaisons are appointed by the MNEA President with the advice and consent of the Board of Directors. Most MNEA committees meet three or four times during the school year.

Contact the Governance Executive Administrative Assistant Roxane Bly (
roxane.bly@mnea.org) with questions regarding the MNEA committees.

To volunteer to serve on an MNEA committee for next school year, notify MNEA President Phil Murray by July 31 using the committee volunteer form, indicating on which committee or committees you are interested in working.

Appointments are made--and members will be notified of their appointment--during the summer.

Share your story

Even though we are not at school supporting Missouri students, members continue to help every day during this crisis. MNEA wants to share your stories as we struggle through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

We are hearing about members who are continuing to care for their students by

  • volunteering at school district Grab & Go meal distribution centers and food drives
  • providing child care for essential medical staff
  • shopping for the elderly so they don’t have to leave the safety of their homes

Your stories help show that educators don’t stop caring. Please send your stories with pictures to MNEA at coronavirus@mnea.org, so we can share them. You can post to social media, making sure you tag @MissouriNEA and use the hashtags  #MNEAheroes and  #MNEAprotects.
